Russell Peck Missing

Even though this happened Sunday, I only was made aware of it today. Composer Russell Peck has been missing for 5 days. The worst is feared as the weather has been extremely bad in the area. Russell Peck has written for the Saxophone including Drastic Measures for Saxophone Quartet, and The Upward Stream for Tenor Saxophone and Orchestra.

According to Cliff Leaman on the NASA Forums Russell Peck body has found. I for one mourn his loss.

Still not officially confirmed but its is strongly believed to be Russell Peck who was found.

This is very sad indeed. I first played Drastic Measures many years ago when I was in college in Canada. What a great quartet!! I had no idea that I would eventually end up here in Greensboro, living only 2-3 miles from Russell Peck's home.

I wasn't able to aid in the volunteer search brigade this week due to rehearsal commitments. However, some of my friends did. He's been on our minds all week. Please keep the Peck family in your thoughts and prayers.

Yes, a family spokesperson confirmed that it was Russell that they found. No word on how he died, but foul play has been ruled out.

He will be greatly missed.
